Puzzle Fun with an Eye on the Future

Puzzling brings relaxation, enjoyment, and a healthy dose of humor, especially when you lose yourself in the chaotic worlds of Jan van Haasteren. But behind the scenes, we are just as carefully working on something else: making our puzzles more sustainable. Last year, we took an important step by redesigning our puzzle boxes. Not because we had to, but because we believe that a product enjoyed by so many people should also be kind to the world we live in.

Smarter, More Sustainable, Yet Still Familiar

The packaging has been redesigned, and you can see it. The box is more compact, made entirely from recycled paper, and designed to reduce both material use and the transport of “empty air.” This helps lower transport volumes, emissions, and the use of raw materials. Don’t worry: the puzzle inside is still just as humorous as ever.

We carefully looked at what is truly needed to package a puzzle properly. This meant saying goodbye to certain plastic components and switching to more sustainable alternatives. The sturdy quality remains the same; only the environmental impact behind the scenes has been reduced.

A Step Forward, Without Losing What Matters

All of these changes make the box more sustainable, smarter, and future-proof, without changing what truly matters: the familiar humor, details, and delightful craziness of our puzzles. The same puzzle fun, now with packaging that better fits the world we all puzzle in together.
