Jan van Haasteren goes greener

We’re proud to announce that the Jan van Haasteren Highland Games 1000-piece puzzle is our first puzzle produced in a more sustainable way! 🧩♻️

The Jan van Haasteren puzzles were already made from recycled cardboard, but we wanted to take the next step. For this puzzle, we’ve introduced the following improvements:

👉 No more plastic shrink wrap — the box is now sealed with a sticker instead. This reduces the plastic waste that would normally be thrown away immediately after opening the product.

👉 A paper bag instead of plastic — the bag containing the puzzle pieces is now made of paper. The raw material for paper (wood) is renewable and easily recyclable. If you don’t wish to use the bag to store your puzzle pieces, you can simply recycle it with your paper waste.

Step by step, all 1000-piece Jan van Haasteren puzzles will be transitioned to this more sustainable way of producing.
