Contrary to what the name might suggest, the Studio is not a physical place where the artists come together every day. Each artist works from their own environment, spread across the Netherlands. Of course, they stay in regular contact through WhatsApp and email, and four times a year they meet to exchange ideas and brainstorm. New themes are discussed, and works in progress are reviewed and given feedback.

Jan’s eldest daughter no longer contributes drawings herself, but she remains closely involved with the Studio to ensure that the artists stay as true as possible to Jan’s style. Together with Jumbo, she also takes part in various activities surrounding the brand.

2023 marks a special year for Jan van Haasteren: the 10th anniversary of the Jan van Haasteren Studio. Under Jan’s guidance, Dick Heins and Rob Derks have been creating the now unmistakable and humorous illustrations. With great passion and joy, Jan, Dick, and Rob continue to draw the wild adventures of the Jan van Haasteren family - always in that highly recognisable style, yet each with their own unique signature.

The puzzles are extremely popular both in the Netherlands and abroad. With the arrival of Mars Gremmen in 2021 and Wilma van den Bosch in 2022, the Studio has now grown to five artists strong!
